Management Team Don Okonny, Founder and Chief Executive Officer Don is the Founder and CEO of
Sagamy and is responsible for the profitable growth and
strategic direction of the company. Prior to founding
Sagamy in 2005, Don spent 4 years as Business Development Manager at Wipro, a $5 billion global technology company. He was responsible for
expanding Wipro's software services business for the
media, technology and travel industries in the Pacific
Northwest and Western Canada, where he grew the new
business revenue to over $8 million and received the highest recognition
for excellence in the company - the "Wipro Winners
Circle" award from Wipro Chairman & CEO Azim Premji. Don has gained in depth experience in the global software services industry and spent months in India and China working on the Offshore Software Delivery Model. Prior to Wipro Don worked for Motorola. Don is also advisor to Madelyn Microfinance Bank and serves on the boards of Washington CASH, Youth for Technology Foundation, and Carnegie Mellon's Heinz Alumni Association. He received both his Bachelors in Economics and Masters in Information System Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
Bernard Caramba-Coker, Chief Operating Officer Bernard is in charge of finance and operations at Sagamy. He began his career at Hewlett Packard as Project Manager with the Imaging and Printing group. At HP he was responsible for managing global cross-functional teams of engineers and business analysts and also managed contracts in Asia and South America and developed cross-border partner relationships. Most recently Bernard worked at video game publisher THQ as Brand & Product Manager, where he led the release of a Video Game Title and created joint marketing campaigns with major retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, Game Stop, and the largest internet social networking sites including IGN and MySpace Game Sales. He also traveled extensively to industry events across the country promoting and building brand awareness. With an interest in emerging market and microfinance, Bernard has spent time in Argentina and Brazil working with successful local entrepreneurs and helping them grow their businesses while also perfecting his Spanish. He also founded MyCampusConcierge, a company providing various concierge services to students in universities across California. Bernard holds a bachelors degree from Carnegie Mellon University and MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Business.
Sherae L. Daniel, PhD., Principal Technology Advisor Sherae provides guidance on technology strategy at Sagamy. She currently is Assistant Professor with the Decision, Operations and Information and Technology department at the University of Pittsburgh's Katz School of Business. She joined the faculty in 2007. Sherae completed her PhD in Information Systems with a minor in Econometrics from the University of Maryland. Her dissertation, entitled "The Effect of Absorptive Capacity on Open Source Software Development," examines how characteristics of the engineering and user communities contribute to the success of open source software projects. In addition to open source software development, her research interests include online communities, electronic commerce, and analytics. Her research examining OSS development processes has been presented at multiple conferences and was presented at the premier International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in 2006. Her paper focused on patterns of software complexity evolution appeared in the May 2006 publication of Statistical Science. She also presented at the 2008 ICIS in Paris. While completing her degrees, Daniel worked several summers in software development and analysis at the AT&T Research Laboratory in Middletown, New Jersey.
In the spring of 2002, she worked in the Computational Sciences and Mathematics Research Department at Sandia National Laboratories, California, a government owned/contractor operated facility that develops science-based technologies to support the national security of the United States of America. Daniel earned a master's degree in information systems management and a bachelor's degree in information and decision systems at Carnegie Mellon University. Daniel's technical capabilities span Database Management, Systems Analysis and Design, Software Development, and Statistical Data Analytics.
Charles Travis Moerk, General Counsel Travis serves as General Counsel at Sagamy. He specializes in business and litigation and represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation and business disputes. He has experience in a variety of businesses and corporate finance including entity structuring, taxation, and cross-border transactions. Travis has also served in several political roles as campaign manager and as congressional aid in the U.S. Senate. Travis attended Seattle University where he earned a B.A. in Political Science with honors and received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the Washington State Bar. |
